The rock band hailing from Michigan returns with their latest single ‘Whole Lotta Nothin’, the track is taken from their upcoming album, The Calm Before the Storm.
Following the recent success of singles ‘Maybe He Was Right’ and ‘American Dream’, ‘Whole Lotta Nothin’ is a powerhouse of dynamic vocals, driven forth by distinctive guitars and unforgettable rhythms, written and composed by lead vocalist/guitarist Doug Borton.
Birthed from over a year of intense writing and collaboration in their home studio in Battle Creek, Michigan, the new single speaks to ideas of accountability and justice. On the single, the band states, “the song provides a very reactionary tone to people who generally tend to take from others without giving back. This song thus lashes out from the perspective of people of all walks of life that get taken advantage of by others. It provides a feeling of hitting back at those individuals.”
Drawing influences from the sounds of Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and Soundgarden, ‘Whole Lotta Nothin’ encapsulates the classic rock sound that will immediately resonate with fans of the genre.
Redtones are an all-American band forged out of the principles of freedom and independent thought, amidst our current upside-down world. Through their music, they seek to introduce thought-provoking ideas through an exploration of abstract cultures. The band states, “we never seek to instruct or direct ideas. Rather, we hope to promote free thinking and debate towards numerous topics related to our current day society and welcome communication towards a common ground.”
