Having emerged from London’s vibrant music scene, Irish brothers Brian and Stephen formed We Are The Darts in 2015 driven by a passion for crafting anthems with distinctive riffs and melodic choruses. With Shane (drums) and Izaak (bass) joining the lineup, the band quickly garnered attention for their energetic live performances and their unique approach to rock. With tracks like ‘Where We Stand’ and ‘Calling All’ receiving widespread acclaim and being shortlisted for the Isle of Wight Festival’s ‘New Blood’ competition in 2018, it is easy to see why We Are The Darts are the ones to watch in 2024.
The band’s latest single, ‘Forgotten One’ serves as a testament to their resilience and creativity, born from the desire to spread positivity during the dark days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Written and recorded in Brian’s bedroom on an acoustic guitar, the song blossomed when introduced to the rest of the band, with each member stamping the track with their own ideas and suggestions.
When asked to speak on the track, the band simply stated that the track represents “a glimmer of hope that things will always get better.” When considering the context of when the track was written, and how the pandemic would have affected the band’s ability to work together creatively when they were all isolated from each other, listeners from every background will resonate with this track, representing a common experience we all shared.
As We Are The Darts gears up for the release of their debut album, ‘Who Are You Again?’ they remain dedicated to sharing their music with the world. With a growing fan base and an impressive back catalogue of music rich with individuality, the band is poised to make a significant impact on the music scene in 2024.
